Overview
This educational program is intended to educate healthcare practitioners who treat postmenopausal women about the accurate interpretation of data from the Women’s Health Initiative hormone therapy clinical trials, while increasing awareness that a significant amount of data exist to support the appropriate use of hormone therapy as an option for treating postmenopausal symptoms in the appropriate women. Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this education program, participants will be able to:
- Re-evaluate their knowledge of WHI HT trials, including initial and follow-up results for Estrogen Therapy (ET) and Estrogen + Progestin Therapy (EPT)
- Assess the benefits and risks of current and newer HT options to identify individualized treatment
- Recognize key gaps in current clinical guidelines and the interpretation of WHI data
- Be able to communicate on the appropriate use of HT for postmenopausal women
