  1. patient referral needs to be taken care of without the intervention of the gynecological physicians. Family doctors need to know they can make refferals to Cancer Clinic.

  2. An interesting observation, albeit not new. System bureaucracies are at issue. However, education needs are required because on the downside and often times, at differing levels, patients are not referred to specialists due to healthcare provider bias or lack of awareness. Having said this, family physicians, as gatekeepers, have a valuable place in patient care.
    Further, direct referral from patient to specialist is also warranted.
