Abstract Public and provider awareness and use of a CA-125 test for ovarian cancer -- - Cancer Prevention Research

  1. I don't know why the CA-125 test is not part of every woman's physical. I have never been overweight, my periods have been painfree and like clockwork, and I had ZERO issues going on until I started developing a bloat that just would not quit. I was subsequently diagnosed with stage III Ovarian Cancer at the age of 48. If the concern is there are too many false positives using the CA 125 test it is up to the doctor to flush those out rather than not test at all. WE NEED EARLIER DETECTION.

  2. Please do a search on this blog as there is a lot of information on the research regarding CA125. It may help understand the limitations of the CA125 and why it is not a good screening test for ovarian cancer.
