We’re Hiring: Web Development and Design Coordinator
The Ovarian Cancer National Alliance is looking for a self-motivated individual with experience in web development, graphic design and web content management. The Web Development and Design Coordinator is responsible for designing and presenting content for the Alliance both online and in print. S/he manages online strategy development, maintains site standards, develops site promotions and works on online community and outreach campaigns.
This position reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager and supports the work of other departments, including Public Policy, Development and Events.
Responsibilities
- Design branded materials for the Alliance, including annual reports, fundraising appeals, brochures, event invitations and signage
- Manage production process for printed materials
- Maintain content and design of OvarianCancer.org and other Alliance websites, seeking input from other Alliance staff as needed
- Develop and maintain a consistent look and feel for all Alliance web properties and related print materials
- Produce graphics and other web materials for online campaigns
- Keep current with emerging web technologies through relevant blogs, listservs and events
- Track and report online metrics on a monthly basis
- Work collaboratively with Marketing and Communications Manager, other Alliance staff and board members to develop print and online materials
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of internet technology and communications
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS and PHP
- Experience with custom WordPress themes and plugins
- Strong Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator skills
- 2-3 years professional experience; nonprofit work experience desirable but not essential
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
- Understanding of brand standards and marketing
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, design or a related field
- Experience with email marketing, social media and online outreach campaigns preferred
- Detail-oriented
- Self-starter
- Patience, persistence and flexibility
- Positive attitude and good work ethic
