Description:The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in September 2012 announced its Moon Shots Program, an unprecedented effort to dramatically accelerate the pace of converting scientific discoveries into clinical advances that reduce cancer deaths. The program initially targets acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS); chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL); lung cancer; melanoma; prostate cancer; and triple-negative breast and high-grade serious ovarian cancers.
