Despite the relatively high frequency of familial and hereditary CRC
syndromes and the proven benefit of screening, referral for genetic
counselling appears to be suboptimal leading to under-diagnosis of

Contrary to our expectations, the checklist did not increase the
discussion of cancer in the family during the first consultation, as
reported by the patients.(ceiling effect)
