Blogger's Note: with the exception of 2 studies (included in the review) all were from China except Denmark (1) and U.S. (1)
Review: open access (pdf)
In our meta-analysis, 13 studies with 1623 individuals were included. The pooled sensitivity and specificity were 0.71 and 0.90, respectively.
To explore possible sources of heterogeneity, we performed a metaregression analysis. The specific variables assessed including ethnicity (Asian or white), method (ELISA or IHC), specimen (serum or tissue), and sample size (G100 or Q100) (+/- 100 samples). None of the factors had any definite influence on heterogeneity.
