Introduction

Recent advances in multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) technology have made possible rapid high resolution imaging in multiple phases. Research into MDCT applications has resulted in imaging protocols that produce optimal opacification, visualization and distention of the upper urinary tract (UUT) [1], CT urography (CTU) has become the primary investigation of choice for the evaluation of hematuria and high risk patients for UUT malignancy. While CTU achieves excellent pooled 96% sensitivity and 99% specificity [2], it is necessary to expose the patient to radiation which is a cause of concern and a major drawback with this technique [1].....
