Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) presents itself as a frustrating and fascinating subject within the realm of neuropathic pain. With herpes zoster (shingles) affecting roughly 3.4 per 1,000 people, and nearly .49 per 1,000 people developing PHN annually, the subject continues to be a prevalent dilemma in want of further study.
