Summary

The Ovarian Cancer Academy provides provides the Early-Career Investigator with funding, networking opportunities, and research experience necessary to develop and sustain a successful, independent career at the forefront of ovarian cancer research. This award also provides support and protected time for 5 years of intensive research under the guidance of a Designated Mentor experienced in ovarian cancer research.
Maximum allowable cost is $750,000 for five years. Cost sharing is required.

The OCRP Outcomes Consortium Development Award supports a multi-institutional research effort conducted by leading ovarian cancer researchers and consumer advocates that specifically focuses on identifying and understanding predictors of disease outcomes in ovarian cancer patients. This effort will be executed through a two-stage approach using two separate award mechanisms: this FY12 Outcomes Consortium Development Award, which will enable the consortium to lay the groundwork for the research project, including proof of concept, and the FY14 Outcomes Consortium Award, which will support the execution of the full research project.

Description

The OCRP Ovarian Cancer Academy, which was initially created in FY09, is intended to be a unique, interactive virtual academy providing intensive mentoring, national networking, and a peer group for junior faculty. The overarching goal of the Ovarian Cancer Academy is to develop successful, highly productive ovarian cancer researchers in a collaborative research training environment. The current Ovarian Cancer Academy is a virtual career development and research training platform consisting of seven Early-Career Investigator/Designated Mentor pairs from different institutions and one Academy Dean. The Academy Dean serves as a resource for the Early-Career Investigators and Mentors, assesses the progress of the Early-Career Investigators, and facilitates communication and collaboration among all of the Early-Career Investigators and Mentors.

(U.S.) SRA Wins $100 Million Contract with Department of Defense - MarketWatch



FAIRFAX, Va., Aug 10, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- SRA International, Inc. , a leading provider of technology and strategic consulting services and solutions to government organizations and commercial clients, today announced that the Department of Defense (DoD) awarded the company a re-compete contract to support the receipt and scientific review of research grant applications for DoD's Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). The contract has a potential total dollar value of $100 million over five years, if all options are exercised.
SRA has provided a vast range of services supporting scientific and technical merit review of the thousands of research grant applications received by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command's (USAMRMC) CDMRP.
